Join a free waste facility tour

Sign up now to join a free tour of one or our waste facilities and you will see how your waste is turned into energy to help power thousands of homes across Oxfordshire. 

We have two tours available – at the food waste processing facility in Wallingford and at the general (black bin) waste energy recovery facility in Ardley.    

Tour dates currently available: 

General waste: energy recovery facility tour run by Viridor – tours take place in Ardley from 10am to 13:30pm: 

  • Tuesday 3 June
  • Friday 25 July
  • Tuesday 16 September
  • Thursday 23 October

Food waste: anaerobic digestion facility tour run by Severn Trent Green Power – tours take place Wallingford from 10:00am to midday

  • Wednesday 4 June (Fully Booked)
  • Tuesday 2 September
  • Tuesday 11 November

How to register for a tour 

If you wish to attend one of our waste facility tours, please email [email protected] or call 01235 422146 with the following information: 

  • the date and location of your preferred tour 
  • your full name 
  • your telephone number 
  • an emergency contact name and telephone number 
  • for the energy recovery facility tour, please provide with your boot size

Places on the tours are provided on a first come, first serve basis.  We will let you know once your place is secure and will then contact you closer to the time with any site-specific information.
